  New Year is something that everyone likes. It is celebrated on the very first day of the year and it is also called as big day in some places and culture. People greet each other happy new year and everyone wishes good luck to each other that they might have this year a good one.


Another holiday is Martin Luther King Day. This is celebrated on the third Monday of January. There is no fixed date of this holiday. This is celebrated in order to admire the efforts that Martin Luther did for saving human rights.

Another holiday event is Valentines Day. People greet valentine to their loved one. This is a day of lovers. This is celebrated on 14th of February. Then there comes the Easter. This holiday changes from year to year and it is celebrated on a Sunday. In this day, Christians keep fast for 24 hours. This is a religious holiday for Christians.

On the last Monday of May, there is another holiday named as Memorial Day. This day is in the memory of the people who died in the civil war in America. Then there comes an independence day on the 4th of July. On this day, flag is widespread all around the country. In addition to that fire works is done in order to celebrate this holiday.

On the first Monday of September, Americans celebrate Labor Day. This day is typically for those people who work day and night for their livelihoods. The second Monday of October is used to celebrate Columbus Day. Then on 31st October, Halloween is celebrated. This is one of the holidays that everyone likes specially children.

Thanksgiving Day is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November. Then the last celebration and one of the biggest celebrations of the year is done on the 25th of December. This is the Christmas Day. People give their children gifts telling them that this gift was brought to them by Santa clause.

So these are the holiday events that are celebrated in the United States of America. There might be some other holidays that are scheduled in the states irrespective of the whole nation.
