FORMATION

Securing Our Children’s Rights, Inc. (SOCR) was founded in 2006 by present and prospective gay parents in the state of Florida.  SOCR is a  non-profit political lobbying organization.

MISSION

 SOCR is organized to secure, protect and preserve equal rights for children of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender parents through lobbying for family-friendly laws that protect all Florida’s children and families.

GOALS

 The primary goal of SOCR is to repeal the ban on adoption by gay Floridians.  Other goals are passage of second parent adoption legislation and monitoring Florida lawmakers, both state and local, on issues that affect our families.
